Yani was excited to experiment with color as she created the world of her directorial debut, “love you to death.” In this short surreal thriller, hopeless romantic Bibi struggles to navigate the dating scene in her mid-twenties until she finds herself haunted by astonishing new circumstances born from murderous habits.

Yani serves as Director of Photography in this short film about two ex-lovers’ attempt at closure, following the break-up.

Her handheld camera work intensifies the mood, and her emphasis on setting allows the historic Florida Avenue Grill to act as a character of its own.

Since her youth, this filmmaker has visualized music videos to accompany her favorite songs. Through collaborations with local Houstonian directors and recording artists, she has begun to transform those daydreams into reality.
